New Afton sees increase in gold and copper resources

New Gold Inc. announced this month that it has increased the measured and indicated gold resources at the New Afton C-zone by 24 percent over last year. Measured and indicated copper resources also increased, up 29 percent over last year. "The C-zone Measured and Indicated gold and copper grades compare favourably to the B-zone Measured and Indicated grades of 0.65 grams per tonne gold and 0.91% copper," stated the news release.

The New Afton mine is approximately 40 kilometers south of WestKam Gold's Bonaparte Gold Project near Kamloops, BC. Exploration at Bonaparte in the fall of 2013 located a large intrusive structure and related anomalies that reinforced Bonaparte's bulk-tonnage, porphyry copper-gold potential. The 2014 exploration program is expected to begin in Q3 2014.
